Ultimate energy boosting tips for the festival season

With the festival season around the corner, it’s time to look for tips to boost your energy. Increased energy levels mean you can survive all that dancing, boozing and traipsing around from stage to stage. Here nutritionist Emily Whitehead shares her top five tips to turbo-charge your energy levels this festival season.

1. Stay hydrated

You can help beat the energy slump by drinking plenty of water. Being dehydrated can make us feel tired and drained especially if it’s a hot day. The darker your urine is, the more dehydrated you are. It’s also important to top up on your magnesium levels as we lose a large amount of magnesium when we sweat. Simply massage Magnesium Oil Body Spray into your skin to help keep you energized.

2. Boost with B12

Processed foods tend to have little or no nutritional value so an additional supplement is needed. Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin which means the body does not store it and therefore we need to obtain through our diets – however this can be difficult. Vitamin B12 helps the synthesis of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine and adrenaline. These are responsible for mood, energy, sleep, appetite, and numerous other brain functions. For fast action and easy use, try B12 Boost Oral Spray which doesn’t need to be taken with food or water and can be easily used on the go.

3. Treat tired feet

All that walking and dancing can take its toll on our feet, so treat your tootsies to some magnesium therapy. Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxant and is also needed to help produce energy. For a quick cooling pick me up, apply Magnesium Joint Body Spray (with the cooling and calming effect of menthol and eucalyptus) to the soles of the feet - one of the most absorbent areas of the body and perfect for magnesium replenishment.

4. Pack power snacks

Avoid sugary foods as this can spike our blood sugar levels and then cause a crash making us feel tired again. Take some healthy snacks with you to munch on, such as nuts, dried fruit and no added sugar muesli bars. This way you don’t go on a roller coaster with your energy levels.

5. Take a power nap

Getting eight hours of beauty sleep a night is unlikely to happen during the festival season. However, you could try having a power nap to boost energy levels. If you struggle with your sleep, especially being away from home and not in your own bed, try Magnesium Sleep Body Spray which includes essential oils lavender and chamomile to help soothe the senses while calming and relaxing the body.
