Since September 2018, BetterYou has been accredited as a Living Wage Employer. This means all our team receives a minimum hourly rate of pay that is in line with the calculated rate required to meet the current cost of living. This is above the minimum wage set by the government for those aged 23 years and above.
Why the Living Wage is Important to Us
In a time when food banks are on the rise and working families are increasingly relying on government benefits to plug the shortfall required for the cost of living, BetterYou is committing to provide a voluntary benchmark for employers to ensure staff earn a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum.
The Living Wage accreditation underpins our continual commitment to creating a great working environment for our staff, ensuring they receive a fair day’s pay for their hard work is just one of the benefits of being a BetterYou team member. Our staff also receive extended holiday entitlement, healthcare, profit sharing bonuses and wellness at work initiatives.
“We really value our team and want them to feel fulfilled within their roles. BetterYou is going through a period of significant growth, which can create challenging conditions; however, the team continually impress us with their ongoing commitment to the company and their desire to make the business a success. We want to ensure it’s a great place to work.”
Andrew Thomas, founder and managing director of BetterYou
BetterYou has joined the movement of over 4,000 responsible employers across the UK, who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like BetterYou, believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.
