If you’re looking for a personalized workout, Heather Binns is the trainer for you! I’ve met with a personal trainer or two in my day and while they’ve all asked me about my fitness goals (toning, weight loss, muscle gain, etc.), Heather takes it several steps further. Before meeting with her at a local park, I filled out a few basic forms about my current workout routines, health history, eating habits and any pain or issues I’ve been experiencing, This way, Heather was able to get a little background about me before we even met. Upon meeting Heather, I knew I was in good hands. She is FIT! Typically in your first private session, she does a complete analysis so that she can determine a workout program specifically designed for you. Along with the information from my forms, Heather determined my lean body mass and body fat percentage (and no, I’m not going to share that number!), noted my physical imbalances and took several measurements. As we all know, muscle is more dense than fat, so often the number on the scale is not indicative of how fit we are, making measurements more important. If desired, Heather also performs a Functional Movement Screen to determine various movement patterns in the body that need to be improved and/or corrected. After the evaluation, the workout began.
We did mainly circuit training, alternating between a minute to five minutes of each exercise such as planking, lunges, Bosu curls, bicycles, mountain climbers, nose busters and so on. Heather is very particular about form and she carefully made sure I performed each exercise properly. And she totally kicked my butt, but in the best possible way! I left exhausted but really excited to take what I learned and incorporate it into my workouts. Along with doing private sessions, Heather also teaches group fitness classes as well as coaches anyone who has a desire to train for 5Ks, 10Ks, ½ and full marathons and triathlons. Whatever your fitness goals, Heather is the perfect personal trainer to help you meet them.
